- Summer 1912 - a few Whitchurch residents founded Park Lawn Tennis Club located at Park Road on a small rough patch of grass between two private orchards. There was no Sunday play.
- 1941 - a German landmine damaged the Pavilion and equipment.
- 1946/1947 - lost the Park Road site but relocated to the current address, which was previously occupied by the Whitchurch Lawn Tennis Club, by now defunct. The Club was still called Park Lawn Tennis Club. From the early days of several grass courts the Club developed and evolved. The grass courts have been replaced by the all weather courts over the years.
- 1991 - the old clubhouse, full of character, was demolished to make way for a more modern building with big improvements on amenities, such as, mens, womens and disabled changing rooms, a meeting room, an entertainments/sitting room with a modern bar, well equipped kitchen and store rooms.
- 1992 - new clubhouse built. At the first AGM in the new clubhouse the clubs name was changed to Whitchurch Tennis Club.
- 1997 - the final expansion. Court 7 and a mini practice court was built with floodlights on Court 7 and a car park extension. The Club now boasts 7 all weather courts with Court 1, 2, and 7 having modern floodlights.
- The club attracts new members every year but still retains members who joined the club in their teens and have remained into their 40's, 50's, 60's and even 70's.
- Terry Williams has been President of the Club for over a decade, supported by Joy Harrison and Fred Poyner, longtime and dedicated members.
- 2002 - Court 1, 2 and 3 new surface.
