Social Tennis

tennis ball Whitchurch Tennis Club social tennis is extremely popular with our members and is an ideal opportunity to socialise with non-playing members and team players. All levels of tennis are available and organised Thursday evenings run by the Coach is perfect for new members to find their level of tennis.

Thursday Evening
Thursday evenings begin at 6:30pm and go on until 9:30pm. All seven courts are set aside for this event. The evening is always well supported as members enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the opportunity to meet friends and new members. New members are integrated into the social tennis and are made very welcome. The tennis is played at ALL levels so therefore catering for everyone's preferred standard of tennis. More often than not the evening ends with a delicious meal cooked by one of the Club Members with drinks at the bar from 8:00pm until late.

Monday Evening
Monday evenings begin at 6:30pm and is another good time to play social tennis and the die hards at the Club are known to play tennis right through the year, occasionally missing certain evenings due to excessive rain, ice and snow!

Saturday Afternoons
Extremely popular time for social players and family members.

Sunday Afternoons
Sunday afternoons are an excellent time to come and play tennis. Less busy than other days of the week its a good opportunity to organise pre-arranged games with more courts being available.

Social Players Tournaments Inter-club Events
During the summer and winter season we compete in various inter-club events. The Club Annual tournament runs from May to July and is organised by the tournament referee.

Autumn Tournament
We also have an Autumn Tournament for various age categories. This is a comprehensive package for the team enthusiast and up and coming players of all ages.

Play Tennis Days
These are organised during the tennis season. These Play Tennis Days encourage children from the age of 3 to 18 years of age to come to the club and have fun on court with prizes given. Adults are also invited to try tennis on the Play Tennis Days.

Whitchurch Tennis Club takes pride in knowing we cater for families and individuals. Several family events are organised throughout the year. These family events are usually finish with a fun BBQ or quiz.

Newsflash

Did you know that the Club House is a fantastic venue for Birthdays, Weddings, Engagements, Retirements and Anniversaries and yes sadly Funerals. Young childrens parties are welcome. Our pleasant surroundings, spacious kitchen and well stocked bar makes a perfect venue for any occasion. The club has contacts to local DJs, bands and caterers at very good rates.
