FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the dress code for playing tennis?

For competitive team tennis you should wear the official standard white dress code with non black sole tennis shoes. The rules are less formal for inter-club tournament and social matches but please feel free to make an effort to wear whites if possible. Black sole shoes are to be avoided so not to leave marks on the court surfaces..

Can I play any time of the day and any day during the week?
We will do our best to keep as many courts available as possible but on certain days this is not always possible due to major events, coaching, team tennis, social tennis and youth tennis commitments. Have a look at our Court Availability page link to see at a glance which courts and which days are more suited to you that do not clash with other pre-arranged matches.

I would like to play singles and double matches at my level of tennis. How do I get other people to play with me when it is convenient for me to play tennis?
Be active! Use the message board to place an advert on this website telling us your standard of tennis and the days you can play and we will try to match you up with other members with similar requirements. There are opportunities to play team and social tennis throughout the week.

I think I am an average 'intermediate' tennis player but I would like to improve my tennis and play more competitive tennis. How do I achieve this?
Take a look at the Team Tennis pages on this website and you will find that certain days are dedicated to team tennis. Do come to the club and introduce yourself to the team captains and team members.
They will endeavour to make you feel welcome and will invite you to play and you will soon establish the level of top tennis at the club in order for you to make a decision to get involved at a higher level. All the teams are keen to seek new players to join the club teams.
